Workplace Safety Training

Workplace Safety Training

Worker training is a central to requirements of the OSH Act of 1970. It explicitly states in the construction standard (29 CFR 1926.21) that “The employer shall instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his work environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury.” Site specific or orientation training is to be provided to worker on all subjects where there are potential hazards as well as when standard specific training is required.  Pyramid Safety & Health Solutions can provide training on construction related topics ranging from lead in construction, confined space entry, fire safety, fall prevention, flag person training, hazardous exposures including asbestos awareness, personal protective equipment, and respiratory protection.

In New York City the Department of Buildings have their own requirements to train on topics such as concrete safety, scaffold safety, cranes and various safety personnel trainings. Pyramid Safety & Health Solutions have partners that can provide these NYC required trainings and our OSHA Authorized Construction Safety and Health Trainers for OSHA 10 and 30-hour classes can train at your jobsite.

Beginning on March 1, 2018, New York City’s  Local Law 196 of 2017 mandates that workers on NYC construction sites which require a Site Safety Plan, Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Manager, or Site Safety Coordinator are required to have a minimum of a 10 hrs OSHA class and by May 1, 2019 when fully implement a total of 40 hours of training or permit holder risk violations with penalties of up to $5000 per instance of non-compliance.
